Winter Sowing Workshop: the easiest way to start seeds [Durham, NC]

from $0.00
sold out

**This course is in-person only. There is no virtual component. Participants must be age 21+

This workshop is FREE, but a $5 donation on in advance or on site is encouraged to help pay for supplies such as potting soil, tape, and containers. Please bring your own clear or translucent plastic container (e.g. empty milk jug) if possible!

Instructor: Megan Brame | Friday, January 17 | 6:30-8:30 PM | 719 N Mangum St, Durham, NC

Learn how to utilize the easiest seed-starting method called "Winter Sowing.” With this method, seeds are started in translucent jugs (ie. 1 gallon milk, juice or water jugs), that serve as mini-greenhouses, and are placed in the shade outside to let nature work its magic. The jugs protect seedlings from pests, allows for the necessary cold-moist stratification, and results in a high germination rate. We will cover all of the basics, including benefits, materials, timing, common pitfalls, etc. Free milkweed seeds will be provided.

The sign-up form is standard for all of our classes. If any fields are not applicable to you or this class, please put “N/A.”
