Shipwrecks, magic, and major family drama - it's time for The Tempest!
Join instructor Juliana Finch for a fun, low-stakes community table read of Shakespeare's The Tempest on June 12th. We’ll have a brief intro discussion with some tips from the theater, then grab drinks and divvy up the roles to read out loud together. After each act, we’ll do a quick breakdown of the scenes so everyone can follow along.
No acting experience or Shakespearean expertise necessary. Reading aloud is optional – absolutely no pressure if you just want to listen and enjoy!
Feel free to bring along any edition of the play you like, though the instructor will be using the Folger Shakespeare edition. A free downloadable version of this version of the script is available here: https://folger-main-site-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2022/11/the-tempest_PDF_FolgerShakespeare.pdf
