This event is FREE for anyone who would like to participate. You can also choose to donate $10 or $25 to help cover costs and keep classes accessible to all.
This class is the fourth of five in our Summer Care Series.
Instructor: Jasmina Nogo | August 2 | 5-7 PM | Durham, NC
Optional Reading: Taming Aggression: The Aiki Way of Conflict Resolution
Description: Conflict is inherent to our human condition yet too often results in misplaced harm, punishment, rupture, and discord. In this workshop we’ll explore how to navigate conflict with care and compassion through ritual informed by lessons in restorative and transformative justice. We’ll learn ways of engaging in generative conflict in our interpersonal relationships, which ripple and exist within our communities and systems.
Care Summer School description:
What is the relationship of study and care? At Night School Bar, we don’t want one without the other: collaborative study is how we care for ourselves and one another. And don’t we all learn best when we feel cared for?
Many of our instructors write and teach about “care,” but each from a different angle. That’s why we’ve created a series of 5 class sessions -- each taught by a different instructor and on a different topic, but “care” is the common thread. You’re welcome to participate in 1 or all 5.
Each of the 5 class sessions are FREE. We invite you to make a one-time donation to Night School Bar if you are able, available in the drop-down menu. We are 100% community funded by lifelong learners just like you and your donation helps us keep our classes accessible.
